Sh. Tawfique Chowdhury

Sh. Tawfique Chowdhury

Voted as a one of The World's 500 Most Influential Muslim.He founded Mercy Mission, one of the world's fastest growing Muslim social enterprises. It gave birth to other social projects, most notably Charity Right, AlKauthar Institute, National Zakat Foundation, and Seven Skies International School. He is a medical doctor by training and also a graduate of the Islamic University of Madinah.


Sh. Alaa Elsayed

Sh. Alaa Elsayed

Director of Public Affairs of Mercy Mission and an AlKauthar Institute instructor. He is also the Director of Religious Affair for the Islamic Centre of Canada (ISNA) and received the Alberta Government Centennial Award for his significant contributions to the Alberta community. He was also a member of the Calgary Multi-Faith Committee and Muslim Christian Dialogue Committee.


Dr. Abu Ameenah Bilal Philips

Dr. Abu Ameenah Bilal Philips

Another speaker who is listed as one of The World's 500 Most Influential Muslim. He is most notably the founder and chancellor of the Islamic Online University, which currently has over 450,000 registered students studying accredited English-medium degree courses. He also has written, translated and commented on over 50 published books on various Islamic topics.


Prof. Tan Sri Dzulkifli Abdul Razak

Prof. Tan Sri Dzulkifli Abdul Razak

Prof. Tan Sri Dzulkifli bin Abdul Razak is a Malaysian educationist and scientist. He is Chairman of Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) Board of Directors and Rector of the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). He was also the 14th President of the International Association of Universities (IAU), a UNESCO-based organisation in Paris. His father, Abdul Razak Abdul Hamid, also an academician, is the sole Malaysian suvivor of Hiroshima bombing that took place in 1945.


Sh. Isam Rajab

Sh. Isam Rajab

Classically trained scholar, founder and Executive Director of AREES University. He was born in Kuwait, graduated with BA in Shari’ah from Islamic University of Madinah, holds a Masters and PhD in Islamic Studies. He has over 10 years experience as Imam in USA & Kuwait and has 2 ijaza in memorising the Qur’an. He is also the author of a book about qira’at of the Qur’an and specialised and licensed in the inheritance system of Islam.


Sh. AbdurRaheem McCarthy

Sh. AbdurRaheem McCarthy

He is of Irish-American heritage and was born and raised in the USA. After accepting Islam in 1994, he moved to Sudan and then Saudi Arabia where he spent 10 years in Madinah studying under the scholars and as a student in the Islamic University of Madinah. He is well known from his TV shows on Peace TV, Huda TV, and many other channels, along with lecturing internationally, having lectured in more than 25 different countries. Sheikh McCarthy has now decided to follow his roots and is living in Ireland, while supporting dawah projects internationally.


Sh. Tariq Appleby

Sh. Tariq Appleby

He was born and grew up in Cape Town, South Africa. After completing high school he attended the Islamic University of Madinah. He completed his Diploma in Arabic and then in 2007 graduated with a B.A. in Hadith Studies. He has taught for a number of Islamic centres in South Africa and India and currently teaches in Malaysia.


Sh. Mohamad Qutub

Sh. Mohamad Qutub

He is a Ph.D candidate in Uṣūl al-Dīn and Comparative Religion at the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) and holds a Master’s degree in the same. He is an engineer by profession with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the U.S., and extensive experience in the field of Industrial Gases. He has several Ijāzahs (licenses) and certificates in Qura'n, Hadith, etc. and over 18 years of experience in Da'wah and teaching. He has spoken internationally in the Middle East, the U.S., and Southeast Asia and has programs on air and online.


Ustadha Umm Hud

Ustadha Umm Hud

She is an engineer by qualification, teacher by profession and da'i by passion. A favourite among her students due to her frank demeanor, she has been teaching in Islamic schools for 8 years before choosing to freelance and involved in homeshooling. She obtained her engineering degree from Universiti Malaya and pursued Diploma of Islamic Studies from AREES University.


Syed Azmi Alhabshi

Syed Azmi Alhabshi

A pharmacist by day and a social causes advocate by night, he is best known for his charitable work in communities ranging from the homeless to cancer patients and refugees. By organizing events such as Free Markets and initiating Suspended Meals these group efforts have helped (and still helping) those in need by providing necessities such as clothing and food free-of-charge, and thanks to the contributions from kind donors and supporters, Syed Azmi and his friends have been making small impacts on bettering some conditions in our society.
